Nemo

Franco Cassina and Carlo Forcolini founded the manufactory of luminaires called Nemo in 1993. The founders have grand ambitions for their company, as they wish to set standards in the area of lighting. Luminaires designed by Nemo are impressive due to their clear design and a simplicity seeming nearly too cool, but they fascinate the viewer with their tremendous elegance and precision. The two most successful luminaires by Nemo are the table lamp "Iota" and the standard lamp "Regulus", both of them having contributed to Nemo’s success. The Japanese designer Hikaru Mori created "Iota". She describes her work herself as being honest, sincere and simple. It is a companion illuminating the surrounding in an intelligent and discrete way, but remaining unobtrusive in doing so. "Regulus", designed by Giancarlo Fassina and Carlo Forcolini, fascinates through its straight honesty and simplicity as well and there are no frills that divert from the luminaire itself. It seems very precise and, nevertheless, it is unobtrusive.
